Southern NH Attraction

One of southern NH's treasured destinations is located in the very small village Mason NH. Parkers Maple Barn. It's an attraction because the food is SO good. But mostly, the maple syrup in the gift shop is almost famous now. If you're ever in the area, you have to stop by.

An internal investigation?

A tragic story.

FORT LEE, N.J. (AP) - A teenager headed to a Sweet 16 party was killed after he stuck his head out of the emergency hatch of a double-decker bus and hit the underside of a highway overpass, police said.
OUCH. What  a way to go. No doubt this was an awful terrible moment for everyone. The company that owns the bus will be conducting an internal investigation.

FOR WHAT??? This accident was not due to bus being unsafe. It was not due to malfunction of anything.

It was the dumbness of the 16 year old kid.

As harsh as that sounds, when it gets right down to it, that's all there is to it. I'm willing to bet some cash the boy's family will file a lawsuit against the bus company, the driver of the bus and any adults who were present (if any). Because in this day and age, every tragedy, every accident is someone elses fault.

The colors of the season

The other day I posted about re-dressing this site with an autumn theme. Kat liked the background. I wasn't sure if it was real wool or a computer image and still don't know...but I did try to find out. As I searched I came across some beautiful fall colored wools and I want to share here:

Book Collections or Kindles?

It took me a few years to realize this: I prefer to read books over using the Kindle.

I have 3 Kindles- two of which have no room for any more books. The Kindle is good for those times when I'm traveling or otherwise not prepared to carry around books. The Kindle makes a GREAT gift for people. The Kindle is good to have on hand. So is the Nook, which I bought recently and when push comes to shove, I prefer over the Kindle.

IMichelleVillageIdiot

See the smiley dood? He has the exact expression I had when I read this article a moment ago:
As part of her anti-obesity Let's Move campaign, First Lady Michelle Obama is now presenting a brief online course: “Supermarket Shopping 101.”
The course, which now appears on the letsmove.gov website, provides novice shoppers with tips such as “steer clear of the cookie, snack and soda aisle.”
OK I admit it. I've read things at that IVillage site and it's a collection, a VAST collection, of articles and advice columns and mostly of women's interest. Lots of MOM articles. As well--
As CNSNews.com previously reported, iVillage.com, which featured Mrs. Obama as a guest editor, also features graphic sex tips, including from prostitutes.

Does Mrs. Obama know this? And if so does she read the sex articles? No wait I don't want to know. One would think the first lady of the US would really vet out any online websites she is (ghost) writing articles for. Ahh but this is Michelle Obama. I don't really think she was ever a lady to begin with.

Big Bad Scary Robbers or Dumb Arses?

They say that every criminal leaves some form of evidence at the crime scene. The evidence may be microscopic or otherwise not identifiable- but it's there. Recent advances with DNA sampling have proven that crimes that were once unsolvable, are now much easier to solve.

So what to make of this article? A group of idiots from CA come to NH, to commit a robbery of a national chain owned jewerly store. The robbers traveled to NH just for this reason. I guess they thought NH is so backward we'd never be able to figure out who they were.

On Nov. 4, 2011, three men wearing Halloween masks, jeans and hooded sweatshirts calmly executed the robbery and made off with $200,000 in gold and diamond jewelry from the Kay Jewelers at the Tanger Outlet shortly before 8 p.m.

What were they thinking? They left their Halloween masks near the crime scene:

Cormier said a break in the case came when two people who saw news coverage of the robbery found one of the masks allegedly worn by one of the robbers. They called police, who were able to gather DNA evidence off the mask. Cormier said that was the key piece of evidence linking the suspects to the crime.

The CA nerds were the stupid ones. Maybe the robbers are illegals who have no knowledge of DNA evidence and such. Good that this group of scum pond excrement have been arrested and taken out of action.

Rational Health Choices Vs. Rationing Health Care

Every so often we get to read a gem of an article about health care rationing. This one came to me and it explores the political discussions being used by both parties about this very sensitive issue.

Autumn Dressing

Since the season is changing over, I thought I'd re-dress the blog to match the colors!
